09-09-2026 - John Scott | Isaiah 26:3

The life of Job can be summarized as one of loss, pain, confusion. That was only part of the story. His life was also a profound lesson in humility, surrender and restoration. Job had a large family and great wealth. In a single moment, God allowed Satan to take everything from him, including his family. We have all experienced the pain and anguish of losing a loved one. Imagine losing your entire family, all your children, in a moment! We who believe know that, even during a time of loss or suffering, our God is faithful. For Job, God was his source of comfort and peace because he trusted in the character of God.

The prophet Isaiah (chapter 26) teaches us that peace is connected to where we place our focus. When our minds are fixed on uncertainty, worry grows; but when our minds are steadfast in God, peace begins to guard our hearts. Patience is sustained by a steady trust that God is present in every waiting season.

God does not promise that we will always understand the delay, but He does promise peace to those who trust Him. As we wait, Focus on Jesus and choose to anchor our thoughts in His character, His faithfulness, and His care, believing that His peace can hold us steady until His purpose is revealed.

Prayer: Lord, keep my mind stayed on You when waiting feels difficult. Fill me with Your perfect peace and help me trust You patiently, knowing that You are always near and always faithful. Amen.

Peace & Blessings!
